Spiritual Cookery

31 Aug

“I then asked (Dr. Steiner), ‘How can it happen that the spiritual impulse, and especially the inner schooling, for which you are constantly providing stimulus and guidance bear so little fruit? Why do the people concerned give so little evidence of spiritual experience, in spite of all their efforts? Why, worst of all, is the will for action, for the carrying out of these spiritual impulses, so weak?’

“Then came the thought-provoking and surprising answer: ‘This is a problem of nutrition. Nutrition as it is today does not supply the strength necessary for manifesting the spirit in physical life. A bridge can no longer be built from thinking to will and action.’”

– Ehrenfried Pfeiffer, from the introduction to

Agriculture – Eight Lectures by Rudolf Steiner

We all know that “you are what you eat”; and many of us are becoming aware that this maxim has a spiritual as well as a physical dimension. We know we simply feel better when we eat well – when our bodies, rather than our minds, dictate what we should eat or not eat. Many of us have experienced a complete change in attitude and outlook on life by simply changing our diets. Whole bodies of thought, such as the Jewish kosher laws and macrobiotics, have evolved to stress the spirituality of food, to emphasize its sacredness.

The “spiritual quality of food” is not a metaphor: food contains a light fiber energy which is as important to our sustenance as vitamins and proteins, but which is not susceptible to chemical analysis. And just as the vitamin and protein content of food can be diminished by processing or overcooking, so too can the light fiber content of food be diminished by disrespect.

Light fibers are actually the same things as good feelings. When we feel good, we literally glow. When a food plant or animal feels good, it glows. Even when it is killed for food, the glow remains as long as the killing was done with respect; that is, with a sense of connectedness and gratitude rather than mechanically.

A farmer puts the glow into his plants and animals by treating them with respect – by respecting their feelings. Practically all farmers farm for the love it; they sure don’t do it for the money. They feel joyous as they ride their tractors up and down their fields, and that good feeling is communicated to the soil and plants. Similarly, most dairy farmers not only address their cows as individuals, but they also develop quirky personal relationships with them. Therefore, from a light fiber point of view, our vegetable and milk supplies are still relatively safe. Most egg farms, on the other hand, are run like Auschwitz, and that’s what makes eggs poisonous to eat (not their cholesterol).

Not all cultures have been so cut off from their true feelings about food as ours is today. Many Native American tribes had a deep awareness that they were a part of what they ate – e.g., the buffalo. They lived with the buffalo, followed the buffalo, prayed to the buffalo. They were one with the buffalo, and thus to them eating was a sacrament. Modern Native Americans maintain that same attitude of reverence towards maize.

But in America today we mine food, extract the nutrients out of it, strip it, rape it, and throw it away. What little nourishment for the spirit is left in food by modern agricultural and processing methods is completely destroyed by the way we eat it. We use food in a most disrespectful manner – stuffing it in gluttonously whether we are hungry or not, whether it tastes good or not, whether we really want it or not; and then we waste food as if to piss on it. Like sex, we have turned eating from a joyous, spiritual act into a source of great shame.

An infant doesn’t conceive of his food or his mother as something separate from himself; he doesn’t feel more important than his food, and therefore doesn’t feel disconnected from it. When an infant eats, he mingles with his food: he touches it, gets to know how it feels. It’s pretty, it satisfies his hunger, it makes him happy. But when an infant first sees adults eat, it makes him feel shame. This is because we adults don’t identify with our food – it’s as if our food is not a part of us, as if what we are putting into our mouths is something foreign to ourselves. We attack our food as if it is separate from us, and it is the act of eating which allows us to use it. We bite it off in huge mouthfuls like ravenous hyenas, chew it and swallow it with gulps of contempt. We come together in great rituals like Thanksgiving and Christmas in which we engage in orgies of gluttony and wastefulness to jointly validate our shame, all the while calling it glory. And that lie makes us even more ashamed; so we lie about that one too, and call it glory. And so on. And nobody will look at what they are really feeling, because if being pigs has brought us glory, why look at what pigs we are?

The reason why saints can survive on so little food is because they’re not attacking it, squeezing the life out of it, so it takes very little to sustain them. The Native Americans are able to survive on a diet of pretty much nothing but corn because they love the corn, and the corn loves them back, and they’re able to live from that love even though from the point of view of nutrition they should slowly starve to death.

While it is true that the original light fiber energy in food can be vitiated by disrespect anywhere along the line – in handling, processing, cooking, or eating – it is also true that light fiber energy, being more flexible than vitamins or proteins, can be restored to food by respecting it and treating it as sacred – by ritualizing the activities connected with it.

First of all, it’s important that you should raise at least some of your own food, even if all this means is a couple of pots of herbs or jars of sprouts grown on a window shelf. Try to throw in at least a pinch of home-grown herbs or sprouts into every meal you cook (not necessarily every dish, but every meal). Visualize yourself casting fibers of light into the food as you add your home-grown herbs or produce.

Next, bless your key, staple ingredients – salt, flour, sugar, honey, etc. You can ask any spirit helpers you are presently using to do this for you: Jesus or Mary, Krishna, nature spirits, etc. can all do the job for you. Just take them a pound of sugar, salt, or flour; address them in whatever form you are accustomed to; and ask them to please bless your ingredients. If you don’t have a spirit helper, just take the ingredients to the summit of the largest or most imposing mountain or hill in your immediate area; take the mountain spirit a token portion of something special you have cooked yourself as an offering; and ask him or her to please bless your ingredients. Don’t worry about whether you are doing it right: if you are doing it in good faith, you’re doing it right.

Keep your sacred, blessed ingredients apart from the regular ones, but whenever you refill the sugar bowl, salt shaker, flour bin, etc. add a pinch of the blessed ingredient, and imagine that you are putting light fibers in with the pinch.

Observe that you must never be in a bad mood when you cook, nor must you eat food cooked by someone who is in a bad mood, or even an indifferent one. A burger from a McDonald’s where the employees are a light, happy bunch has more light fiber energy than a plate of organic brown rice from a vegetarian restaurant where the cook is bored or is angry at the manager.

You can easily tell when food has bad vibes. It’s not that it tastes bad per se; rather, it feels wrong or out of place in your mouth – there’s no incentive to chew it and swallow it. Whenever you get a feeling like this about something you are eating, spit it out. Don’t swallow it, even to be polite. Much processed, convenience food “tastes” like this – bland, insipid, effete, enervated – but people get so used to this kind of food that they can’t tell the difference any more. They just assume that feeling lousy all the time is how you’re supposed to feel, and they cease to notice that it is their food which is bringing them down.

Finally, talk to your food. Thank it as if it were alive and could understand you. Not long conversation, just a simple acknowledgment that you are aware of being in the presence of a sentient being who is worthy of your respect, who died for you, and from whom you wish a favor. You wouldn’t ask a human being for a favor in a surly, disrespectful manner; on the contrary, you would ask humbly and respectfully, and feel gratitude for the favor when granted. And that is how you must address your food: take small bites, chew it slowly and mindfully, eat in silence paying attention to the act of eating, and never eat until full.

Offering Jewelry as a Spiritual Gift

31 Aug

Jewelry is part of our daily lives. When two people get married, they exchange wedding rings, a perfect circle symbolizing unity and continuity. But jewelry can be offered on other occasions as well. And what if you could offer someone a gift bearing some special meaning and be a beautiful piece of jewelry at the same time? David Weitzman’s website is a great source for beautiful jewelry endowed with special energies. The spiritual gift section of the website will unveil beautiful designs based on symbols from major religions around the world and mystic concepts, which promote unity, harmony and love. Here are some examples of jewelry and their meanings.

The engravings on the ring of Tao are in Hebrew and can be translated like this: “The road is wiser than the one who walks in its path”. The symbol of Tao is placed in the middle of the ring. The word Tao means ‘road’ and the significance of it on the ring is the communion of the road and the walker. The communion takes place when the walker on the path feels the law according to which all things act. This law is the base of the Tao philosophy. The steps he makes along the path are in harmony with the universe. The ring of Tao is a spiritual gift that can be offered as a symbol of compassion, modesty and efficiency, which are the three basic principals of the Tao model of leadership.

Tibetan culture has always been fascinating. There are eight auspicious signs around which Tibetan Buddhism has evolved. One of them is the Lotus flower. At night the Lotus flower closes and sinks underwater so that at dawn it will rise and open again. This continuous cycle makes the Lotus flower a symbol of creation and rebirth and a symbol of the sun. It also symbolizes spiritual enfoldment, due to the way it grows. Its roots are in the earthly mud, its long stem struggles through the water so that it reaches the surface and opens into a beautiful flower that basks into the sunlight.

The ring of courage is a spiritual gift that can be offered to boost one’s self confidence. It has a long Hebrew text engraved on it that is meant to make the wearer understand that fear is a major cause of one’s suffering. Fear is believed to come from ignorance and twists your judgment. It is summoned by the person himself, because he is letting deceiving thoughts grow into his mind. It is also the reason why the person who fears becomes blind to the abundance and beauty of life.

The Egg of Life represents the third stage of the division of the human embryos. It is composed of eight spheres in such a way that if you would draw a line between their centers, you would obtain a perfectly aligned three dimensional Star of David. An Egg of Life pendant is a two dimensional representation of this shape. It is a symbol of balance, health and fertility. This piece of jewelry is the best spiritual gift that can be offered to a pregnant woman.

The Eye of Horus is a symbol made of six parts. Each part forms a different mathematical fracture and if we add those fractures we get closer to 1, but never reach it. This is the Egyptian belief that the soul will reach its perfection only in the next world. The eye is within a triangle, which is the strongest structure in the entire universe. This spiritual gift can be offered as a symbol of protection and health.

These are just some of the symbols bearing a powerful meaning. Be sure to visit ka-gold-jewelry.com. Here you are bound to find the right spiritual gift bearing the proper significance for the person you cherish. All jewelry can be found in either gold or silver.

A piece of jewelry can be beautiful, but at the same time dull. A representation of a powerful symbol, handcrafted and finished, submitted to a special energizing process through meditation are some of the key features of a spiritual gift.

Western Spirituality Steps Through Doorway to the Divine

30 Aug

We are the New Agers, the Spiritual Seekers, the ones who hold lofty goals of becoming One with the Divine, of creating world peace through mass visualizations, of rising to the highest consciousness imaginable. We want to offer unconditional Love to all. We desire utopia. We want to be able to give and receive instant healings. We try to communicate with our spirit guides and the angelic realms, and

we want to become free of the egos that sabotage our dreams.

We walk around in this duality with open hearts, big hearts, wondering why this world holds so much darkness when all we truly wish for is The Light. We look up, focusing on God when life circumstances pull us down. We try to help others, to do good, to be good, to set good examples. We want our energy to effect positive change for the planet and the universe. We work at surrendering to Creator of All that Is, and surrendering to allow the Universe to respond to our good intentions.

We continuously search for the highest, for communion with the Divine, for our own higher selves. We feel sad when we err, we rejoice when good wins out over evil.

And the cycle continues… lifetime after lifetime after lifetime. We understand that there must be a way out – that there must be a doorway to Spiritual/Ultimate Freedom. But even the definition of what this means eludes us. We read scores of spiritual books, looking for the one teacher or enlightened being who can give us enlightenment and true awakening. And the years pass.

Does this sound like you? It certainly describes over thirty years of my life. We call it our “spiritual path” and it seems to have no end; we never quite find the answers and the search continues.

I recently received an invitation to receive a profound blessing from a Gujarati saint from India who has become a living Gnani Purush – one who can separate our egos from our Pure Souls. “That sounds like something I’d like to try,” I thought, so I ran to see him. I expected another knows-all teacher, someone in a high state of consciousness who would be interesting to learn from. But I was to be given a most precious gift that would change my life forever.

The Gnani Purush gave me separation from my ego… I was given the awakening to my true self, the clearest vision of who I really am. I was given self realization in the form of deeply knowing that I am pure soul who has this package it lives in called me. I’ve had the intellectual concept of this for years, but the profound and beautiful separation given to me by the Gnani Purush has enveloped me in the true experience of the Divine, of Oneness. I am living in the separation – between myself as pure soul – and the body person of ego/intellect who has my name and carries so much karma.

And as I apply the knowledge I am receiving from the words of the Gnani Purush that are translated to English, I become more steadfast and strong in my experience of living as a pure soul. I see all living beings as pure souls. This is not a concept – it is real. I now enjoy (rather than dream of or imagine) such a sweet bliss because I watch the wordly experience of my body person as separate from my true self. There is a detachment occurring within that gives me such freedom and peace that I feel gratitude in every waking moment. The separation is the most important thing that has ever happened to me. I have stepped through the Doorway to the Divine.

Spiritual Meditations – Essential Tips

30 Aug

Always sit up straight when following a spiritual development meditation.

The idea is to allow your body to relax completely yet keeping your mind awake. If you meditate lying down, it is quite likely you may fall asleep and you will not gain any active spiritual development. Also it is difficult to “ground” and protect yourself.

Be comfortable when doing meditation exercises.

Again the idea is to let your BODY go to sleep and let your mind enter into its psychic growth. Uncomfortable clothes or shoes keep irritating the body so you cannot relax enough!

Try to find a warm place to meditate.

If your body is working overtime trying to keep your temperature up, it will not be able to relax.

Do not cross your legs, ankles or arms.

This inhibits the flow of energy around in and out of your chakras and around your body. The pressure of one limb touching another also reminds the body to stay alert. Also, crossing your limbs stops the flow of blood around the body.

When meditating, don’t try too hard!

Many people see wonderful pictures in the mind whilst others struggle to see anything. “Go with the flow”, just relax. If at first you don’t succeed, keep trying and you will soon see clear images. Some people start by seeing only colours, others see pictures straight away. With practise the pictures will improve.

Do not use these meditations to help you fall asleep.

These meditations are specifically designed for spiritual growth and not for stress relief and relaxation. They will make you feel good after you have meditated and you may wish to meditate before going to bed to put you in a more relaxed frame of mind.

If you feel drowsy or “spaced-out” after meditating.

You have not grounded or earthed yourself properly. You should have had your feet firmly on the floor when meditating. To correct the problem visualise roots growing out of the bottom of your feet going deep down into the ground. When you start to walk, visualise the roots staying in the ground and breaking off with each step you take.

Breathing during your guided meditation is essential

When you start your spiritual meditation you must breathe slightly deeper than normal and then allow normal breath all the way through you meditation. We want to be sure we have loads of oxygen in our blood to allow our brain to function at its highest vibration.

Spiritual growth meditations are specially designed to link you closer to spirit by increasing your vibration. Just this, in itself, is a huge healing process because we increase our vibration and shake off old stubborn emotions and energy blockages in our body’s energy systems. Meditate! It is fun and it gives your brain a vacation!

How to Choose a Spiritual Healer – Avoid the Many Mistakes

29 Aug

This article will focus on the sometimes difficult task of picking a spiritual healer. Where you live will make a big difference in the number of healers to choose from and the variety of services that they offer.

Although looking for a healer takes you out of the bounds of the traditional healing arts you do not need to suspend your logic or judgment. Here are 4 important question that you will want to ask.

1. Ask friends for referrals – Getting advice from family and friends is always a good idea when choosing a new provider of services. The same applies to finding spiritual healers. Ask your friends if they have been to anyone or know of anyone. And what were the results. Did they feel better. Was the person nice. Were there a lot of visit involved etc…

2. How confident is the healer in their ability – A money back policy is normal when you purchase most products or services. When you interview the healer will they offer you a guarantee for their work? A guarantee does not mean you have to throw away your crutches in one session but you should feel satisfied with the results. The healers confidence in their work can be a determining factor in whether you see them.

3. How many sessions and how often will you need an appointment – It is safe to say that you will not be healed in one session but does the healer give you an idea of how many sessions you will need.

4. What is a successful outcome – It would be nice to think that no matter what our concern that a spiritual healer can make it go away completely. What is a happy outcome for your time spent with a spiritual healer? Would you be happy if you problem was reduced by 65% after 3 visits? Is it successful enough to say you would like more sessions or is it just enough to say that is all you want and can now function very well.

The above questions are critically important to ask. You are the one that decides about your life. Keeping these questions in mind you should be able to find a spiritual healer that you can work with.

Age New Spirituality – Inspirational Stories ( Part 117 )

29 Aug

Along with this progress of spiritual ideas that I am trying to trace for you, I can only hint to you a little about the other factor in the growth, for that has nothing to do with our subject, therefore I need not enlarge upon it — the growth of rituals. As those spiritual ideas progressed in arithmetical progression, so the ritualistic ideas progressed in geometrical progression. The old superstitions had by this time developed into a tremendous mass of rituals, which grew and grew till it almost killed the Hindu life. And it is still there, it has got hold of and permeated every portion of our life and made us born slaves.

Yet, at the same time, we find a fight against this advance of ritual from the very earliest days. The one objection raised there is this, that love for ceremonials, dressing at certain times, eating in a certain way, and shows and mummeries of religion like these are only external religion, because you are satisfied with the senses and do not want to go beyond them. This is a tremendous difficulty with us,with every human being. At best when we want to hear of spiritual things our standard is the senses; or a man hears things about philosophy, and God, and transcendental things, and after hearing about them for days,he asks: After all,how much money will they bring, how much sense – enjoyment will they bring? For his enjoyment is only in the senses, quite naturally.

But that satisfaction in the senses, says our sage, is one of the causes which have spread the veil between truth and ourselves. Devotion to ceremonials, satisfaction in the senses, and forming various theories, have drawn a veil between ourselves and truth. This is another great landmark, and we shall have to trace this ideal to the end,and see how it developed later on into that wonderful theory of Maya of the Vedanta, how this veil will be the real explanation of the Vedanta, how the truth was there all the time, it was only this veil that had covered it.

Spiritual Relationships — a New Level of Intimacy and Sharing

28 Aug

All relationships are spiritual relationships, and yet up until this point in time, humanity has not been consciously aware of the vast mystery, power and blessing that underlies human relationships. From the most innocuous of relationships, such as those we might have with a neighbor or co-worker, to the most intimate relationships with a spouse, partner or family member, all relationships have a deeper meaning and purpose, and are infinitely vaster and more complex that we can currently imagine.

In times past, human beings have relied on verbal or written communication to connect with others. Most recently the development of new communication technologies has opened more possibilities for communication, not only with those we are physically near, but with anyone who has access to a telephone or internet connection. These advances in technology are paralleling the evolutionary development of humanity. As we become more aware of being connected with all of life, so we create new ways to be more connected.

In the present time, much more is now possible in the way of human communication, which is greatly expanding the range of possibility within human relationships. The network of human consciousness is expanding and receiving more in the way of spiritual light, which is awakening many dormant potentialities within our individual and collective consciousness.

You may have noticed yourself having more vivid dreams, sensing the emotions and thoughts of others, or becoming more sensitive in general to energies and to environments. Human consciousness is becoming more permeable, which is allowing for a much greater depth of communication between people.

Another change process that is happening, is that overall, we are becoming more aware of our inner life, our thoughts, feelings, dreams, desires, and motivations. The greater spiritual light that is expanding upon the Earth is shining brightly, illuminating our consciousness and bringing to the surface even those parts of ourselves which we may have hidden from. This process can greatly intensify our emotional life, and also opens new possibilities for us to release ourselves from old and habitual defense patterns that may have kept us safe in the past, but which are no longer necessary now.

As we begin to free ourselves from old defense patterns, self judgments and expectations, a new self emerges from the dust of our previous identity. We find ourselves more capable of being present in the moment to love, and less afraid or needed to defend ourselves. As more and more people enter into this space within themselves, a field of light begins to infuse the network of human consciousness. This light is already activated now, and moving within humanity’s individual and collective awareness.

What this means is that a whole new level of relationship and intimacy is now possible between people. We are speaking not of physical intimacy, but a much greater closeness which has to do with the development of a spiritual level of relationship. This kind of relationship is one of the heart, and does not require physical proximity, family ties or even a lot of time spent together. A spiritual relationship embraces the totality of our being, and transcends roles, personal needs and history.

In order for the depth of spiritual relationship to flower between two or more souls, what is needed is a commitment within each individual to turn the focus of their need for love towards the divine. When we each turn towards the divine source of all love from the Creator, we release our friends, family and loved ones from the expectation that they must fulfill our personal needs for love. When this expectation is released, this also frees the individuals involved from a constant sense of disappointment or betrayal, since none of us can really fulfill the needs of another in the way that God can.

This does not mean that we do not have needs in our relationships. Children need their parents, partners and spouses rely on one another, and friends and colleagues have needs for friendship, socialization and connection. What is does mean is that we rely on God to nourish us from within, and from this place of inner wholeness, a new quality of communication and depth can emerge.

Imagine if you no longer held resentment, blame or judgment even towards those that hurt you? Imagine that you felt so full of God’s love that even a stranger was beloved to you? This dearest ones is the future of human relationships, which already are spiritual relationships, and which will become more so in the future as humanity moves beyond the consciousness of separation to embrace the experience of unity.

You are already beloved in God’s eyes, and one day you will know this love with every cell of your body and every fiber of your being. Dearest ones, your path is already unfolding towards this new time, when all are One and one is All. To gain the fulfillment that your heart desires, look within towards the source of all love. This divine breath within will lead you towards all that your heart longs for, which will manifest with unimaginable perfection, in the most unique and unexpected ways.

The Power of Absolute Honesty in Spiritual Growth

28 Aug

We all know the value of meditation, yoga and self-study in one’s spiritual growth, but, we often overlook some of the other more ordinary disciplines that can prove to be equally valuable in this profound journey. Of these many disciplines that are helpful to your spiritual evolution, the power of honesty should not be underestimated.

Honesty is certainly a good value to cultivate and have. No doubt about that, but, in the context of your progress on the spiritual path, the real significance of honesty starts to shine through. Here are the 4 key reasons why honesty can be your best friend on the road to enlightenment.

1. Face Your Weaknesses:

We all have weaknesses and short comings. No one is exempt from this reality. If you are born and going about existence, then you have some aspects that need work. Honesty is going to make sure you face up to these weaknesses, so that you can take the necessary steps to overcome them.

Spiritual work can often be derailed by your shortcomings. The diseases of procrastination, laziness, narrow mindedness, etc., can all easily disrupt and hinder your spiritual growth. The first step in combating these conditions, is to be honest enough to admit you are afflicted by them. Only then does it become possible to try to change.

2. Face Reality:

How is your life really? Not the image you so badly want to present to others, but the actual state of your life and relationships? You see, if all was great and we were full of bliss, love and wisdom, there would be no need for any evolution. Only facing up to the sorry state of affairs honestly, awakens one to the great need for transformation. Without this courage to see how messy things are, no clean up would be initiated. Honesty is the instrument to help us look at this naked truth.

3. Drop False Personalities:

Now we are starting to get into the deeper layers of how honesty actually helps us gather our energies, so that they may be applied towards our greater destiny.

If you watch your ego in action carefully, you will notice that you spend enormous amounts of energy building and sustaining false images of yourself. Prior to engaging in a discussion, you will see yourself often rehearse the dialogue mentally, to make sure you represent yourself in a particular way, regardless of whether that is really you or not. In similar fashion, past events you will see yourself rehash, to feel secure about how you were portrayed, and finally, you will constantly catch yourself trying to manipulate reality in the present so that you are perceived in a particular way. All this image oriented thinking is a colossal waste of time and energy.

The answer to preventing all this waste of energy is simple, just be absolutely honest. You are done then. You will speak as will speak, you have spoken as you have spoken and you are behaving just exactly how your are. Just be sincere and forthright.

Don’t underestimate what has just been conveyed. If you spend some time just watching yourself go through the day, you will be amazed how dishonest you really are. Instead, as mentioned, just be yourself exactly. Don’t, for the sake of impression, put up any false face. Once you realize and implement this simple point, you will be blessed with great freedom.

4. Honesty In Meditation:

Finally, we come to the role that honesty plays in your actual meditation practice itself. When you sit down to meditate, and start to watch your thoughts, you will realize how deceptive the mind is. The false reasons and justifications that the mind creates are alarming. To stop it from continuing it’s mischief, you will have to decide to be absolutely and completely honest and forthright. Without this attitude of honesty, you will not be able to make much progress in self-study, which is the key to spiritual growth and finally enlightenment.

Summary:

The need for honesty and sincerity cannot be over-emphasized. In the early stages it is recommended, to break the habit of unconscious lying and self-deception, that even white lies and diplomacy ought to be abandoned and complete forthrightness be embraced. Once accomplished, simple honesty will go a long way to helping you evolve to your highest spiritual potential.

Spiritual Desire: a Delusion?

27 Aug

You’re driving along, minding your own business and all the sudden the sunset has assaulted your senses with all the color and light of an otherworldly portal. Before you know it you find yourself…contemplating life?

Why do we do that? Is there some spiritual force there, or has the sunset tweaked our brain?

To answer this, we have to explore the feeling. When you saw the colors, the lights, the size… was extraordinary, right? But was what you felt simply the sum of its visual parts, or was there something more?

I’ve talked to hundreds of people who’ve felt the same thing while sitting by themselves, taking a walk in nature, or meditating. They describe a smoldering spiritual presence even without those events. So we know that there is definitely a feeling that many people share.

So what is the feeling?

It comes from something called the ‘Navigator’, which is a fancy name for your brain’s ‘instinctual sense’. The Navigator can feel this macro-spiritual connection if you can stop and pay attention. You don’t feel it all the time because most people just don’t know how to quite their minds; there’s too much chatter.

It just so happens that a beautiful sunset, with its awe-inspiring colors and light, has the power to stimulate you into that particular state of mind. It’s kind of a wake up call – a reminder, that you’re a part of something big.

But it is also reaching out to you. For that window of time, a spiritual transmission has burst into your reality to reach out to you and anyone who can share in it. Those who are open to those feelings will not limit the fullness of that fantastic moment.

What’s this about communication?

The Universe is one huge living organism. We are all a part of it, just like how the cells in your body are living organisms within you, all living independently, and oblivious of you.

There are subtle forms of ‘communication’ between the parts and the whole. That’s why for example, you can get an ulcer from doing stressful work; the messages you are sending to your cells are erratic and confusing. And that’s why during a sunset you feel like you are shaking hands with God.

Spiritual Desire is also a desire for Answers and Ultimate Truth.

Human Beings are naturally exploratory. Once we explore the area directly around us, we naturally want to know what’s beyond the next hill.

Today, with the information age and the internet, information gaps are closing, and all the out-of-touch religions and folk-beliefs are losing credibility. Although 90% of people are ok with whatever satisfies the spiritual desire, the real seekers are pushing that boundary, hungry to understand greater and greater levels of truth.

True seekers aren’t satisfied with the same old program everyone else seems to be following. There is something beckoning inside, a rebelliousness, to discard everything they’ve been given for something better.

Returning Home

Spiritual Desire also encompasses an inner need to return, like fragments of a shattered whole who all know that they were once part of something whole, and desire to one day return.

The Universe is here to experience life in this dimension. We are all a part of that experience-gathering process. The eventual return to the whole is as natural as the hand that reaches out to collect something shiny to bring it back to the eye to view (Yes, the Universe thinks this dimension is shiny).

That’s one of the reasons meditation is so satisfying, you can go to a place of rest and peace anytime you like, and it gives you a recharge to take on life again.

Higher Balance Institute offers tools for meditation, spiritual development, enhanced intuition and sensory awareness in the world. Our mission is simple – to awaken the world one mind at a time. For more information and free eBooks please visit us at www.higherbalance.com.

Kabbalah Explains the Spiritual Dna

27 Aug

All of us know about the DNA inside our bodies, containing genetic instructions for our biological development. Basically, it is a set of informational data that gives orders to our bodies about how to develop and when. But how is that connected to Kabbalah, you might ask?

Kabbalah says we have more than just physical DNA inside us. We also have a spiritual one, called Reshimo. And just like the physical DNA, the Reshimo is a set of information inside of us. The Reshimo can be described as a spiral of information that gradually unravels, causing us to change and develop at every single moment.

This is how it works: every new moment for us is, in fact, a new Reshimo that surfaces within us. As soon as it does, we suddenly feel different from the previous moment, see different things around us, and experience the phenomenon of time going by. As soon as we’ve gone through the experience that the present Reshimo directs us to go through, a following, completely new Reshimo comes to the surface and we suddenly feel that time moves forward another instant, along with all the inner and outer changes we experience.

But there’s more. Kabbalah explains that the spiritual gene, the Reshimo, has a purpose. It directs our spiritual development toward a single goal: to connect to the force that binds all parts of Creation, the Creator. This means that eventually, we will reach a state where we will feel and understand the very force that sustains our existence and created us to begin with. This goal is described in Kabbalah as – adhesion with the Creator.

Hence, throughout the generations, and from one year to the next, it’s not only our technology, culture and science that develop. We also develop internally or spiritually, coming closer to adhesion with the Creator. In fact, it’s our spiritual development that induces all our corporeal innovations and achievements. How?

As described above, the unraveling of the Reshimo makes us constantly find ourselves in new states of development, both personally and globally. We begin wanting higher living standards than before, better technology, a more refined culture, and so on. Kabbalah explains that this is happening because behind the scenes, the Reshimo ceaselessly propels our desires to grow, and that is why we constantly want new things. Hence, precisely our spiritual development has brought about our external progress, that is, everything we have achieved in technology, culture and science.

Kabbalah explains that the Creator created us along with the Reshimo that guides our development, so that we will eventually reach His state. The interesting thing is that the only thing that changes and develops is us, while the force called Creator remains unchanging – it is in a state of complete perfection. Therefore, somewhat ironically, the purpose of all our movement and development is to reach that same perfect state of absolute rest as the Creator is in. This is where our spiritual genes are leading us.
